HELP

What can we help you with?

The guide to using the site and the answers we are asked for most, in one place.

Signing up and signing in

  1. 1Press the “Sign in” button in the top right of the screen.
  2. 2In the dialog that opens, switch to “Register” and enter a username, an email address and a password, then accept the terms of service.
  3. 3Pressing “Register” creates the account and leaves you signed in. After that you sign in with your email address and password.

Searching the collection

  1. 1Type the title, the author or a keyword into the search box on the home page.
  2. 2Press Enter or “Search the collection” to run it — the results cover both the titles and the full text of the works.
  3. 3Long result sets continue in the pagination below. The search lives in the address, so it can be shared and it survives coming back to the page.

Reading a work

  1. 1Open a work by pressing its cover or its title to reach the record's page.
  2. 2“Read” opens the digital edition (PDF or EPUB) in the reader.
  3. 3Before buying, “Read the first pages for free” lets you look through the sample the publisher released.

Listening to a work

  1. 1A “Listen” button on the record's page means the work has an audio edition.
  2. 2Pressing it opens the player at the bottom of the screen, and listening carries on while you move to another page.
  3. 3No audio button means the work has not been produced as audio yet, or that its formulas and tables make it unsuited to the format.

Buying a work

  1. 1Choose the digital or the audio edition of the work you want to buy.
  2. 2Press “Buy” and say whether the VAT receipt is for you or for an organisation.
  3. 3Choose a payment method and pay; the work opens the moment the payment clears and its “Read” button becomes active.

Packages and membership

  1. 1Open “Membership” from the menu in the top right.
  2. 2Pick the reading package whose length and price suit you and press “Choose package”.
  3. 3Once it is paid for, the package is active and everything in it can be read and listened to at no further cost for as long as it runs.

The researcher's corner

  1. 1While reading you can highlight a passage, write a note against it, and generate a citation.
  2. 2Choose a citation style (APA 7th edition for now) and fill in the fields; both the bibliography entry and the in-text citation are produced for you.
  3. 3Highlights, notes and citations are filed into folders in the researcher's corner, where they can be copied, edited, deleted and shared.

Profile and settings

  1. 1Press your profile in the top right to open the profile page.
  2. 2Your details, your profile picture and your password are all changed there.
  3. 3“My library”, “My rights” and “Payment history” are coming soon.
